New Plymouth 17 Papatoetoe 14 (not counting the last one!)

A trip to the Gully ground awaited the boys on their 3 day camp in New Plymouth. Unfortunately that team were a little bit shell shocked in the 1st 25 mins and very quickly found themselves 17-0 down. This could have been the start of a cricket score but the boys dug deep after some stern words at the half time break. The rest of the game belonged to Papatoetoe, they attacked New Plymouth at the breakdown and through the forwards. New Plymouth had no answer to this and found themselves on the back foot for the rest of the game. Two tries from TJ Hopoi had Papatoetoe back in the game and hunting for the win. Unfortunately it was just out of reach however the boys did themselves proud and showed that they can compete with the best that NZ has to offer.
